Your Wookie

The WookieIt's a suffocating kind of love….

Every morning, without fail, I awake to find at least one but mostly two little people who were not in bed with me when I went to sleep the night before.

Bottom line, neither of them sleep in. But Zee is the ultimate worst. This morning was no exception. When 6am rolled around, he was ready to go in a most unnatural and, frankly, annoying way. LD was still sleeping so I decided to sneak Zee out before he woke up his big brother. In a genius move, I booted a box full of spray paint cans at the foot of the bed* as we 'snuck' out. I could not have made a more unholy racket if I'd started playing the bagpipes.

LD woke up.

Yeah, I know, shocker.

So I take Zee out to the lounge, set him in front of the auto-nanny** and then returned to LD who was wailing, "Hey, come baaack! I'm still sleeping!"

The thing about me is, I listen to my kids needs. I care. So when LD said, "Can you still snuggle me?" I did it. Because I'm selfless.

So there we were, LD and I snuggling and I said,

"Wookie***, I love being your mum."

To which he replied,

"And I love being my Wookie."

Then he thought for a few seconds and said,

"And I love being…your Wookie."

Sweet lord, I love this kid.

Hello friends

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.

Cuteness overload from LD yet again. He knows how to make you happy (that is a real gift in a person of the male gender. Lucky, lucky future partner of LD, that’s all I can say. In the meantime though, he’s yours … ALL YOURS!!!)

I feel your pain with kids that won’t sleep in. My guys are often up before 6am! Drives you nuts!

He does deliver quite often, doesn’t he? And yes, for now, MINE! I could squeeze him so hard that his head would pop off. God love that boy.

Hahaha! I know. Crazy. But sadly, nothing kinky. Just laziness/storage shortage issues….

Thing is, when they both sleep in, their mood is just gorgeous all morning. Hello kids, don’t you see sleep makes everyone happy???

Oooh, I love mummy snuggles. I take more than my share because I know, with boys, the well will dry up soon enough….

F is usually up for morning snuggles but P won’t have a bar of it. Nope. She’d rather do gymnastics all over us, and all over the bed. Annoying.

    Love LD’s comments – he’s a keeper, that’s for sure 😉
