It's not that I don't love a good Mother's Day stall gift. Because who can say no to a vial of Fairy Wishing Dust (glitter) and a pair of earrings that cost $3 and made my ears so infected I considered having them surgically removed?
Of course, I'm joking about the earrings! I never actually wore them, hahaha! I am very much looking forward to the gifts Luca selects from the stall this year and if Ziggy is making me another macaroni necklace, then awesome. I appreciate these presents for the treasures they are.
And I also appreciate when Bren goes out and buys me my real present. This year, I made sure he couldn't get it wrong by selecting it myself. In fact, my control issues are so pronounced that I have actually commissioned a piece of jewellery to be made to my specifications. And I think Brendon is quietly thrilled with this arrangement.
I am having a love affair with arrows at the moment (aren't we all?) and Georgia from Hoops and Bell is making me a very special custom necklace. I can't wait to share it with you when it's done.
Oh, but my little heart wants more, more, more. So many beautiful things and such a small credit card limit. Sigh. Read on below for some of my top Mother's Day picks (and all under 50 bucks!) and a little giveaway from Casetegram.
Pretty Trinkets
More arrows! These tiny cuties from Hoops and Bell are stirling silver and stirling ADORABLE. Obviously, I need a pair to match my new necklace. Find them here.
For the Wall
One of my favourite artists, Lovely Sweet William. So many prints to swoon your face off at. I own two. Need more. Check out their Etsy store here.
A Gift with Heart
I bought a bunch of these tea towels last Christmas. They're huge, 100% cotton and all proceeds go to St Kilda Mums. I didn't keep one for myself. Silly. Find them here.
A friend once bought me a Glasshouse candle for my birthday. And then another friend bought me another one. It was an awesome trend that I never wanted to stop. I have, however, never owned a Pink Lemonade. 5% of the RRP from this candle will go towards the McGrath Foundation to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and increase breast awareness in young Australians. Your house will smell amazing for a worthy cause. #nobrainer Find yours here. Check out more Mother's Day ideas from the McGrath Foundation here.
The Indoor Gardener
I kill herbs. There, I said it. Herbs mock me in my garden. So then I buy some and forget to use them until suddenly, I have $25 worth of dead herbs in my fridge. Ain't nobody want dead herb risotto. So this adorable little greenhouse may be the answer to my black thumb. Only $19.95 at Ikea here.
