This week, Bren and I clocked up twelve years together.

Seven years of those we have been engaged.

Five of them we have spent as parents.

We do plan to get married some day. We are saving up so that JLo can sing at our wedding.

Haha, just kidding! JLo can't sing!

This year's anniversary celebration was unique and special.

As we sat around our $99 Ikea dining table (because classy) and ate our take-away Thai dinner (because classy), Luca and Ziggy discussed penises (because classy).

Over chicken satay and garlic tofu, we reminded the boys of our "pants on" policy at the dinner table. Because, yes, that's right, classy

Times have changed.

I still remember the boy he was when we fell in love as the new millenium dawned.

I was just a girl, too.

I am still his girl.

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.

You seem pretty committed, even without the certificate… three kids’ll do that to you 😉 Happy anniversary! x

Happy Anniversary A & B. Your celebration sounded perfect to me.
Love is a very precious thing, keep it well cared for. I raise the ever present glass in my hand and say chinky chink to 12 x 12 more years of happiness together for you. xxx

Opposite end of the spectrum here. We’ve been together for over 15 years. Married for 14 (together 11 months when we said our I do’s). Parents for all of it (both had a daughter each from previous relationships). But you know what? Doesn’t make our relationship any stronger (or less) than yours. Congrats on 12 years! 🙂

    Thank you, Kylie.

I don’t think our relationship will change after we marry. We are as committed as we can be. But we both want to be husband and wife. We’ve always wanted that but life has gotten in the way of wedding plans. Kids are a time suck, you know? 😉

You and Bren make a wickedly good team together. Beautiful babies, too. Three kids in, who needs a marriage certificate? Save the money 😉 If J and I hadn’t got married when we did (circumstances somewhat required it because we were overseas, visas, blah blah blah) then who knows if we’d have actually done the deed otherwise? It was never something that I felt the need for, although I don’t regret it. I’m pretty sure we’d still be in the same place we are today, regardless. Anyhow, enough about me. I have no doubt that if and when you & Bren rock the wedding thing, it’ll be a gorgeous day. xx

Happy Anniversary to you both! It actually takes a lot of commitment to stay united for such a long time, I am sure your kids have a large role in it. Anyways I wish you stay like this for years to come. Happy Holidays!
