Innerpower Mother’s Day Giveaway

by | May 8, 2012 | Little Giveaways, Little Gratitude, MOTHERHOOD | 26 comments

Have you been to my Facebook page lately? If you have, you’ll notice it’s taken on a life of its own.

Along with all the support and encouragement I received in the lead-up to Harlow’s birth, readers were chatting to other readers, celebrating births, asking after one another and offering kindness when someone was having a rough time of it.

I am honestly awe-inspired by the power of women when we choose to support one another. So much publicity is given to how bitchy women can be when they get together but on my humble little FB page, I see only wonderful women reaching out to one another and creating a community that is nurturing and safe.

So to all of you, thank you for creating that environment for me and everyone who reads The Little Mumma. It’s beyond special.

Expressing my gratitude in words is tricky so when jewellery label Innerpower approached me to do a Mother’s Day giveaway, I thought it was brilliant way to say thank you.

Innerpower Pendant & Coin

I’m excited to offer readers the chance to win a gorgeous silver Innerpower Logo Pendant with Swarovski Crystal Edge and an interchangeable Baby Feet/I Love You silver coin which can be slipped inside the pendant. The pendant is approximately 2.8cm in diameter and comes on a 48cm silver chain. This awesome prize is valued at $255.

Hello friends

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.

Well given that you’re intent on hogging Ryan Gosling all to yourself (greedy girl!) and that Zac Efron is probably a tad young for me (but HELLO, didn’t he grow up into a hottie?!) my perfect Mother’s day would include delicious, squishy morning cuddles in our suddenly cramped bed, a win for my son’s footy team (no rain please), a yummy brunch, a handmade card, the rule that I can take kisses all day on demand, because it IS Mothers’ Day, a yummy dinner with my Mum and a peaceful cuppa on the couch watching The Block, but wishing it was The Voice.

Nothing says perfect like a swag of good shit.

Oh yes, I do undoubtedly cherish the handmade, lovingly glued kiddy craft, the $5 umbrella and pen from the mothers day stall and the sickly sweet mushy card from the other parental unit which will no doubt accompanied by items I have circled in red, underlined and asterixed a dozen times from every cattledog known to man.

But nothing says I love you and you’re an Ace Mum and sorry about the pouch, the stretchmarks, the cost of your boob job, and the ever present smell of young DNA under your fingernails – then DIAMONDS. They best bring that shiz this weekend.

Don’t hate me because its true 🙂

I tell ya what would make my Mothers day.. and that would be to spend it with MY Mum …… unfortunately even though I am celebrated in a fairly low key way ( step up boys ) because my Mum lives far far away I dont get to spend it with her which would be lovely.
In the mean time though, I will settle for a sleep in, a cooked breakfast, a foot massage and lots of cuddles from my boys =)

I am going to have the perfect Mothers Day as I am going to spend it with my three daughters who still want to spend time with me even though they have grown up into teenagers and beyond. I am incredibly lucky to have three great friends in my three beautiful daughters 🙂

My perfect mothers day is any normal Sunday really but what will make it special is an evening bath with a bottle of white, knowing my babies are sleeping in bed, my other half is making their school lunches and a whole world of Flying Doctors circa 1986 is lined up for me to watch from a watery, warm, sauvignon blanc happy haze…… xx
Have a lovely mothers day Angie.

This Mother’s Day my hubby is leaving bright & early to go interstate, where he will remain for the following two weeks. So I’ll be spending the day, like any other, with the kids. Hopefully I’ll catch up with my gorgeous mum & my 95 year old Nanna to celebrate my lineage & to soften the blow of my other half nicking off on me on Mother’s Day of all days!

Perfect day would be spent with my loves (my gorgeous daughter and lovely husband) just chilling and doing the things we love, walk in the sunshine, and snuggles on the couch x

I have to say there will never be a perfect Mother`s Day to me as there was 7 years ago, 5 days after I had given birth to my first child, that was the best Mother`s Day present ever, I remember Matthew and I had a bit of us time in the morning together, he woke up and looked straight at me with the most beautiful look on his face as if saying “Oh your my Mummy”, later Mark came in with presents (his Mum brought them for him to give to me otherwise I wouldn`t have received anything) Matthew layed on my lap as I opened the presents, it was a beautiful day sun shining in, it was also 2 days after we buried FIL so full of emotions still but it was and still is my best Mother`s Day. I actually mentioned this to Matthew only a few hours ago 🙂 My perfect Mother`s Day is just to spend it with my 3 darling boys and family xx

My perfect Mother’s Day will be like any other day, Daddy works away so I’ll be spending it with my almost two year old boy. I just adore him and cherish him more and more as each day passes! We’ll go spend some time with my Mum and share the love there too! Every day is Mother’s Day with my happy lil man!!

Well, apart from the prerequisite morning cuddles and snuggles in bed, breakfast made by someone other than me and the preschool craft project that gets pride of place on the mantle before being carefully stored away, I would really really just love to get approved for the rental house we have applied for. Being 5 months pregnant the nesting is starting to kick in and all I want to do is start making a space for the new little person that will be joining our crazy, happy little family soon. Might sound like an odd request but it really would make my day 🙂 happy mothers day!

My perfect mothers day would ideally be shared with my own mum and my kiddies, however my mum is no longer with us and is now remembered in heaven 🙁 So instead my kids and partner will no doubt spend mothers day trying to keep me distracted from missing one of the most important people in my life.

Let’s see….my Mother’s Day is going to be spent with my whole family, celebrating the special day AND my niece’s 10th birthday. Plus, Saturday, I actually get to go on a date with my husband. So, I’m pretty well set!

I am planning on dragging my husband and daughter away from the house- perhaps to the park. I am nesting like a mad woman in the lead up to our baby boy’s brth (6 weeks left), and just can’t stop cleaning if I am at home! Solution: out we all go!
Perhaps while we are out I will get treated to lunch and a pressie- here’s hoping!

All I want for Mother’s Day is to not have to get up at 4.30am to start work at 5.30am 🙁 No breakfast in bed for me unfortunately. 🙁

My perfect Mother’s Day will be waking up to snuggles with my partner and 2 week old son Jasper, then my 12 & 16 yr old plonking themselves on the end of our bed followed by random chats about what were all up to. Then up for kids sport and then brunch at our favourite cafe with THE best caramel latte’s… then the afternoon spent relaxing in the sun with family and friends, while watching all our kids hang out and play together. <3

I would love to be able to spend the day with 2 well behaved and happy children, and the same from my husband! No fighting, no yelling, not have to cook, feed or clean up. And not have my husband ask me for the hundredth time “where is…”

Yeah right, but I can dream can’t I?!

I’m not fussy – a sleep-in until at least 8am, a hot shower ON MY OWN, some flowers and a hot coffee. 🙂

My perfect mothers day would be hubby having the day off work so that we can spend the day together as a family! (oh and perhaps he would get up to the kids so I could have a bit of a lie in!) xx

A perfect Mother’s Day would be sending the day with MY Mother. I don’t get to see her often enough. Besides she makes the best chocolate cake.

My perfect Mother’s Day ie the Mother’s Day I’m going to enjoy this year, will begin with cuddles in bed with my cherubs, opening gorgeous handmade gifts, then wandering down to our local beach, finding myself a big, shady palm tree to sit under while I watch the kids playing happily in the ocean and building sand castles. Perfect!
