A box of pre-loved treasures in the mail.
Such a wonderful surprise and so nice to think of the shared history of these little dresses – as my lovely friend Ladybird says, from one princess to another.
I recently sent a bag of little boys stuff to a relative for her son – keeping it in the family makes parting with baby clothes so much easier!
I also sent a bag of teeny baby boy stuff to a young couple who'd just had a babe and have very little dough. I don't know them but was told they could use some baby clothes so I gathered together a whole bunch of stuff and sent it off with a note congratulating them on their new baby boy. We'll never meet but paying it forward has left me with the most wonderful feeling.
Passing things on is infinitely more satisfying than selling it on Ebay, don't you find?
And being the recipient of such thoughtfulness is just exquisite.
Thank you, Ladybird. You are a love.
FLAPS!!!
It feels good passing stuff on, doesn’t it? I love that I now have a couple of little nieces to pass on to. I’ve also given lots of the outgrown items to Goodwill etc. I’ve never sold any clothes… and won’t. I’d much prefer for people who really need them to just have them 🙂
Yep, it’s a great feeling. I also love popping something on my kids that I know has been worn by a friend’s babe. Just a lovely connection.
And yes, Goodwill gets loads of stuff from me. Love a Goodwill donation!
I am agreed with you Madeleine. I too do same thing with my old cloths.
