My agent rang today. At noon tomorrow, LD and I have an audition for a commercial. A Mumma and Son audition. Sweet.

There are any number of factors that could prevent us from getting the gig. Most of it totally out of our control. That's fine. If we're meant to get it, we'll get it.

However, I would like to remove one possible roadblock.

I need to make sure my son looks like my son. And not my daughter.

So tomorrow morning, we cut the hair.

Not boy short but MUCH shorter than it currently is. The picture up top is the look I'm going for. The boy, not the bear. You crazy fools!

Wish us luck.

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.

    O M G. Deep breathes… And that’s just for me.

Good luck babe. LD will look as cute as ever – but i sense your heart is going to shatter, just a little, when those locks fall to the ground. BUT how friggin GORGEOUS is he gonna look, right!

Eeeeee i’m already dying for pics!

I know! I’m freaking out but I’m ready. If for no other reason than the trauma involved in attempting to brush/wash/touch his current hair, I am ready!

    Gulp.

Aw… good luck with that! The hair cut, that is. I hope it’s as pain-free as possible, for all involved.

Good luck with the audition too – not that you’ll need it. x

    Thank you, Mel.

LD, I agree, IS stunning. But you realise that kid in the picture isn’t he – right?

I am starting to think maybe I like the kid in the picture more…. He doesn’t backchat me, for one thing.

Well, I can’t wait to see pics. Sadly, it’s bed time on this side of the world, so I’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to see you next post. I bet he’s an absolute spunk – no new hairstyle will change that.

    Nighty night!

Now I’ve looked at it properly I can see it isn’t him. I thought it was him with styling. I need to look more closely at these things!

But LD is stunning anyway so you can see why I made the mistake!

The buzz cut rocks, but I understand yu have to work yourself up to that, pls if my sosn didt have Asian hair with an insanely spack cowlick I’d have maybe let his hair grow, but from 6 wks & a hairdo not dissimilar to Ray Martin, bringing said son to the breast & seeing Ray look back at me…. It was time to buzz cut that baby & that is how he will remain (I think he’s had ovr 50 haircuts now)t not yet 4 his hair grows like…… Rapunzel’s!
    Good Luck for audtion!!!!
