The Little Mumma Loves: A Little Loveliness

by | Apr 5, 2011 | The Little Mumma Loves | 12 comments

It's April which means it's basically May which means Happy Mother's Day!

I have been thinking about what I might like, a little token to celebrate the awesomeness that is me. Perhaps a little trinket of loveliness, to reflect my own motherly loveliness.

To that end, I've been scouting around for stuff. I absolutely love trawling through MadeIt.com.au (which is similar to Etsy.com) – a treasure-trove of handmade goodies. I trawled and trawled, the sound of children screaming and crying a mere muffled hum in the background. I thought about checking on them but hey, helicopter parenting is wrong, man….

I came across Oh Deer, sweet jewellery handmade by sisters, Eva and Magda. I am loving the vintage feel to their pieces. I will take one of each of the below please.

I am also loving on art right now. The main reason I wish we owned our own home was so that I could go nuts putting pictures wherever I please. I'd buy art with a specific home in mind for it.

Sigh. Some day.

I love the whimsy of these prints by Sweet William.

And these photos by 74 Lime Lane are so lovely.

So, a little loveliness. Is it too much to ask in this world??

And a little Heads Up! Not that she needs it because she gets a ba-zillion hits on her site every day but check out Miss James of the Bleubird Blog – she specialises in lovely. Her whole family is a picture of loveliness.

I think this blog, a day in pictures, was the first post I saw. And I fell in love(ly).

Hello friends

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.

I wonder what sex act I should trade off to get me one of those purty necklaces. I’m thinking a quick BJ might earn me the oh so sweet feather one?
I actually love the bluebird one so much I could be persuaded to ditch the starfish for that one…..

Oh, and I’m in love with you. Just saying, Mwah. xxx

A quick BJ should secure you the sweet feather one AND the bluebird one….which I think is actually a swallow. Ummm, hello? Can you say MEANT TO BE?

Consider the love deeply mutual. xxx

Me well I’ll be getting something from the Primary School Mother’s day stall. Sam picks some gems from there. Favourites over the years include a pink torch (cause I’m a lady), a pen with ‘greatest mom’ on it and my absolute favourite – the stuffed toy fox key chain for my keys (it was so big I couldn’t fit my keys in my pocket or handbag properly). He’s always so proud of what he buys me how could I not love it 🙂

Haha…I am really beginning to *love* you Angie “the sound of children screaming and crying a mere muffled hum in the background. I thought about checking on them but hey, helicopter parenting is wrong, man….” this made me literally *laugh out loud*. Thanks for sharing these. I <3 anything birdy related at the moment...divine!!!

I just wet my pants. As you say. ‘for reals’. Now I’m all damp and smell like my sons room.

You crack me up woman. x

That bluebird necklace is precious, and I love the hot air balloons print – too cute.

How on earth do you find these treasures? The world of online stores like Etsy is foreign to me because I don’t enjoy drooling over things I can’t have. Just like window shopping. Perhaps I’m lacking a chromosome or something… if I ever win the lottery, you can be my stylist 😉

Oh, and clicking on the link, I realise it’s actually a swallow. Duh.
Love the owl stuff too (I’m all about owls these days).

Naww, giant key chain fox that’s bigger than your handbag. What’s not to love?

LD makes me stuff at daycare and I have never loved a thing more. Seriously. But I am not looking forward to the school stall presents. I’m having weird flashbacks to the pickled people in jars – are old ladies still making those?

Oh Jenny! I think I *love* you right back. And I do so love to make a person LOL – even if just typing that makes me feel like removing my skin with a fork. Thank you for typing it in full. You’re awesome.

Oh, you. Wetting your pants – just for me! Is there a greater compliment in the world?

You know what, MJ? The thing about Made It stuff is that it can be amazingly affordable. And the dollars you do spend are going to fledgling business as opposed to corporations. Which is lovely.

But I am being ultra-careful with my dollars at the moment, as I know you are, too. So I just keep a little journal (aka this blog) of stuff to buy when I am a world famous blogger.

Of course, by then, I will get it all for free…….

Yes, it is indeed, a swallow, which is why I love it so much. It’s got the whole retro tattoo mixed with uber-loveliness thing going on that I have decided to totally covet lately.

And yes! Owls! Loving the owls. It’s all about the owls right now. They are EVERYWHERE.
