Little Family M-G Weekly Wrap-Up

Last week, at chez M-G….

B:

Is this the hardest working man IN THE WORLD? Nah. But he is way up there. For reals. The man works two jobs and is studying engineering part-time. Normally an off-campus student, last week he commuted 3.5 hours to and from uni every day. Two trains and a bus. By Friday night, he was broken. Big effort. But what about me?

Angie:

Yes, what about me? Who do you think had to play single Mumma each night? Feeding, bathing and bedtiming two little boys on your own is no freakin' picnic. But actually, it was much easier than I thought it would be. I don't know why but the kids just toed the Mumma line. I think they realised they couldn't get a second opinion so they just sucked it up and did my bidding. People should do my bidding more often. My bidding is ace.

LD:

Well, you know, the hair. It was all about the hair. I got caught up in the moment but with time to reflect and look at the picture again, I see that the hairdresser did NOT give LD the haircut I asked for. What the hell is with hairdressers? Why can't they do as they're damn well told? I think hairdressers have authority issues. And they're taking them out on our heads. But back to LD. The child who was heard to say, "I have beautiful hair!" to anyone who would listen has just had all that hair cut off. I worried there could be fretting. But no. It appears he is equally enamoured of himself with short hair. Good for him.

Zee:

Oh man, this baby just steals my heart away. But oh man, is he annoying! There's baby-proofed and then there's Zee-proofed. And Zee-proofed is, ultimately, a padded cell. I am constantly telling that kid, "No!" Nothing is safe. But then, he giggles. Or blows me a kiss. And I just die. Who are you going to be, little one? This kid fascinates me.

I had such high hopes for the family portraits. I was going to get all artsy and use a tripod and everything. But hey, I was pretty much single mumming it all week so I guess it's fitting that this week's portrait is me and the kidlets, self-taken on my mobile phone.

Hello friends

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.
