Happy Days

boys

This is how our morning began.

The boys had a lovely Skype session with B.Nan, B's mum, while I showered and – GASP! – washed my hair. I may have even taken my sweet time doing it.

Later, we took LD to his Saturday morning swimming lesson. B and I sat watching our biggest little fella, exchanging glances and smiling or outright exclaiming to one another about the brilliance of our child. And all LD had to do was kick his little legs. Such is the thrill of being a parent. The smallest things fill you up to the brim. By the end of the half hour class, we were overflowing with pride.

Next was Bunnings where we acquired a new shovel and a couple of snags and sauce. Hello, heaven! Is there a better weekend institution than the old 'hardware and sausage sizzle at Bunnings'?

Then home again, home again, jiggity jig.

More Saturday pottering, rearranging some furniture, packing up some bags for goodwill, building block dragons with our little people and just generally, being the M-Gs.

Because that's who we are. We come as a package deal.

Today, it felt nice to be packaged.

I’m Angie!  I mum. I write. I wife. My husband would say this is the correct order.  He’s so neeeedy. I live with my family in Melbourne, Australia, where I complain about the weather for 90% of the year – but I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except maybe in Lake Como, waving to my neighbours George and Amal each morning.

It really is the little things huh, I remember staggering down to Bunnings pre kids to get stuff and having one of those sausages in the vain hope that it would cure my hangover. Now its a family outing =)

B and I have been attending the Bunnings sausage sizzle for many years now – long before the kidlets!
